-Insequrities-
I'd be rich if I had a dollar for everytime I heard "I wish I could wear or do that, but i'm too this or that ... so I can't" . The biggest obstacle stopping you from doing what you desire is yourself. Period. What most of us dont realize is that we've built a negative definition of our selves that can only be demolished by YOU! Some of us have been told you're the most beautiful woman in the world by your loved ones our entire lives. But if you constantly look in the mirror and only poke and point at every imperfection on your body and state what you wish could be changed, you'll never flourish.Your body is what it is, and you have to love the skin your in. If you want to change what you see in the mirror you have to be positive. Your journey to change has to come from a healthy positive place because starting anything geared from hate or negativity is both mentally and physically unhealthy, and in the end you'll be fighting a losing battle.
Love yourself.Silence negativity!
-Stress Eating-
Do you ever continue to eat after you're full?Do you eat when you're bored, emotional, sad, or even happy? Do you eat for fun/ socially without being hungry?Do you eat while you watch TV without being accountable?Do you wake up out of your sleep to have a snack? Do you skip two meals and have one colossal one?Do you consume until you cannot move/ function afterwards, so you sleep instead?Do you stress eat? Don't worry alot of curvy beauties have been guilty of this. Catch yourself when your doing it, and check yourself in the process.Try logging your food on a phone app like my fitness pal or keeping a food journal so you can stay accountable for what you eat.
Pick up a hobby this year instead!
-Constantly seeking approval-
Seeking approval, especially from strangers or irrelevant people, is the perfect way to remain miserable. Whether it's via social media "Rate Me" games or real life, NEVER will everyone be satisfied with who you are and what you stand for. If you believe you're a near flawless 8/10 and you play a Rate Game where everyone says you're only a 3/10, what did that do for you and your self esteem (besides make you self-conscious)? People will always think you shouldn't be wearing this or you shouldn't be supporting that. But do what makes. YOU feel happy! Please tap into precisely how you feel in this new year and silence everyone else.
Do you.Disregard Approval!
-The Weight loss Battle-
I often hear full figured women state that once they can finacially afford a cosmetic weightloss surgery, or find the perfect man, they're going to lose weight. Too many women feel that by taking these routes will help transform into this phenomenal women they so desire to be inside and out.WRONG! If you don't feel like that now, while you're working on that goal, once you reach it, you still won't know where to locate the courage, the self-possession, or the fearlessness of a phenomenal women. Why? Because if you feel broken the entire time your reaching for your goal, it doesn't make sense that you'll suddenly become strong and whole because of your finacial status or because you have a man. I truly learned through my own weightloss journey, that you it have to be self motivated and fueled to make a lifestyle change from a postive place. You're more likely to have a sucessful weightloss journey if its not fueled by a motive. If you sincerely believe you're hideous at 300 pounds, it's going to stem deeper than the fat you want to disappear and when you reach 150, you'll feel the same while looking different. Build your character and make the foundation indestructible. You're so much greater than a "before/ after".
Find a positive mindset.Fuel your own change!
-Big Girls can't be Sexy-
Who said that you can't be Crazy.Sexy.Cool? Well they lied. There happens to be a thin line separating big and sexy...YOU! Sexy can be vintage, old-fashioned, classic, current and sometimes so far from trendy. Sexy can be a head full of flexi rods and a smirk. Sexy can be sweatpants, hair tied, chilling with no make up on. You can wear your boyshorts and be sexy. You may feel sexy in your bodycon.Sexy is a self projection of how you feel. But lets be clear being raunchy is not the same! Concealing your sexy is important because too much sexy can be percieved as something else, and we all know that all that is not necessary. Most of the time, being fully clothed in sharp clothes is the sexiest look of them all. Are you doing too much? Stop! Be effortlessly sexy NOT constantly raunchy.
-Settling in Relationships-
Crappy relationships should be at the top your no-no list. Why?! Because you are so capable of deserving the best, the best boyfriend, the greatest friends, the best support, the best job/ career, the best fashion, the best life. When you settle it screams to the world that you are only possibly good enough for what you're settling for. It screams to the world that you think poorly of yourself. It is a side effect of low self-esteem. Here's the antidote carefully re-evaluate the people in your life, are they helping you grow or sucking the life out you? If so givthem the boot because we're so over recieving the bare minimum in 2014!
You deserve more! Don't settle!
-Hiding-
In 2014, I challenge you to step into the spotlight. Stop hiding behind neck-up avis, oversized clothing, and your other "prettier" friends. Stop HIDING! The world may not be ready, time is up though. It's your time. Stop hiding behind food. Stop hiding behind other's confidence.I dare you to dig deep and dwell in your own. Stop hiding behind doubt and denial. Stop hiding behind what happened in the past. The top of the the year is the perfect time for a fresh start. This year step into the spotlight!
