[ Must Have Winter Items] For The Love Of Beanies

 Let's talk about Beanies Baby!

Baby it's cold outside and it's time to break out the Beanies! The beanie has always been a winter essential and a cold weather staple but over the past two winter seasons the beanie has undergone a fab transformation into a fashion forward must have accessory. Large retailers and designer brands are offering lots of fun, gorgeous, and chic beanies this season, and with a variety to choose from I'm sure there's one every type of fashionista. Check out a few of my favorite beanies offered this season below!

[Fashion Buzz] Miss Plus USA

Finally a national pageant that truly represents the 67% of plus size women in the United states, Miss Plus USA! It's so exciting to watch curvy beauties compete in a pageant for a national title. To be honest im anxious to see what kind of wardrobe these beauties will be rocking during the pagent.I'm also really thrilled about the rapid progression    that's currently taking place in the plus size community, however it would be awesome to see some of the nationally televised pageants like The Miss America Pageant allow women of all sizes compete because women come in a variety of shapes. If you'd like to apply to represent your state in the Miss Plus USA pageant enrollment is currently open online. What are your thoughts on the Miss Plus USA pagent? [Retailer Spotlight] Panache Plus

Panache Plus

"Designer Re-Sale Heaven"

I'm so excited to feature Panache Plus as the first store for my Retailer Spotlight! "Thrifting" has become a rising trend for my generation simply because new items cost an arm and a leg that college students or recent grads can't afford. Plus revamping something old  and making it current seems to be the new fashion movement.  When I heard about Panache Plus I was thrilled to set up an interview because I finally found a resale store that has designer lables exclusively for full figured women. I had the pleasure of Speaking with the owner Kimberley who is a retired real estate agent who saw a need for a Plus Size resale and consignment store in Saint Louis, and boy was she right! Kimberley said that she's always been an advocate ReSale shopper but when she started wearing plus size clothes none of the resale shops had anything to offer in plus size clothing. So when she switched career 5 years ago from selling property to selling clothes shes never looked back! And I wouldn't blame her, nothing makes a woman happier than to be around designer clothes all day. But Panache Plus isn't taking or selling just any type of rift raft that blows in their door! Their selling in tact designer brand shoes, clothing, hand bags and gorgeous custom made jewelery. You won't believe how much of their merchandise still have original tags on it! Panache Plus carries designer labels and brands from Michael Kors, Coach, Nine West, Lane Bryant, and Dooney & Bourke just to name a few. This is not your typical resale or thrift store Panache Plus floors are super organized by size and category. They've got everything from business wear, pants, skirts, tops, bridal and formal wear, swimsuits and even intimates! I love the overall ambiance if the store, it kind of feels like one of your very stylish girlfriends invited you to raid their huge walk in closet.  While I was there  I even ran into a few fashion icons like Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Michelle Obama who were all just happen to be there hanging out. I love this store and can't wait to go back and maybe sell some  of my clothes for some new designer threads! Take a look at the photo's below of all of the faboulous things you can find inside of Panache Plus!

[The Laydee Posh Look Book] Punk Chic

Punk Meets Curves

"The Butterfly Effect"

I was going through my closet and came across this really awesome high waist/high split maxi skirt I bought earlier this year on Ebay. As I was holding the hanger, I thought to myself "how could I forget to wear this bad boy this summer?!" Then suddenly my fashion light bulb switched on in my head and I came  up with an awesome stylish summer to fall concept for this skirt,"ADD LEGGINGS!" And that's exactly what I did! Check out the pictures below for full outfit details!

[The Laydee Posh Look-Book] Sweater Love

Sweater Season is Here!

"Daddy can I have $500 dollars?!" -Hillary Banks (Fresh Prince)

I absolutely love sweaters! Cardigans, tunics, sweater dresses you name it I probably have it.But when choosing a sweater I always consider the 3 C's; cute-ness,color,and comfort. These are extremely important to me because nothing is worse than a itchy ugly sweater especially before a Ugly Sweater Christmas party.(yikes) I'm sporting a black and white color block tunic sweater dress from Target. After trying it on l immediately fell in love. Not only was it reasonably priced but it exceeded my 3 C expectation. For more details on my head-to-toe look take a closer look below!

[Beau-Tea] Two Toned Lips

Two Toned Lips

" Make a statement with your lips"

Recently I worked backstage for Honey's Child Boutique at the Saint Louis Pink Carpet Fashion Show a Charity fashion show for Breast Cancer awareness . As you may or may not know it is traditional to wear all black when helping out back stage at a fashion show so that you are identified as staff.Wearing black posed as a dilemma for me because I still wanted to be able to showcase my support for Breast Cancer Awarness but it's almost impossible to do in all black apparel. So after throwing my thinking cap on I choose to rock a two tone pink lip.My "lip-spiration"comes from my curvy-licious cousin Chrissy who is always dressed to impress with flawless makeup to match. The key to achieving the perfect two tone lip is by choosing two colors in the same color family but different shades or two different colors that complement each other. For example if you have a bright red lipstick choose a darker second lipstick.Check out the close up of my two tone lips below!

[The Laydee Posh Look Book] Convertible Boots

 Convertible Boots

"From Boots to Booties"

There's nothing that brings my fashion heart more joy than an item that can serve multi purposes like these awesome pair of Studded Fold-Over Combat boots from Torrid. These convertible boots can go from boots to booties in a matter of second's, which in my opinion is a "Fall-buh-las" buy! What I love most about these convertible combat boots is that there wide foot and wide calf friendly, which is really important when your a Plus Size Beauty! To achieve a more edgy look you can wear them up straight and for a more softer ellobrate look fold them down and show off the killer studs.Check out how I rocked my convertible boots below.

[The LaydeePosh Lookbook]Thrifting Edition

"Finding The Beauty in Thrifting"

I dedicate this post to my very patient boyfriend who spent hours with me in the thrift store this weekend with no complaints. -Love you Bae-
I'll be the first to admit that I've never been a fan of thrifting. For me the whole idea of wearing someone else's old clothes was not at all appealing. But after watching a lot of my friends find awesome steals time after time from the thrift store I thought I'd give it a chance. My Granny is the biggest thrifter of them all and she tried to get me and my sister into thrifting when we were younger but we were naive and never saw the beauty in anything "pre-worn".  Although I was disappointed in the lack of plus size apparel I came across at some of the thrift stores here in Saint Louis I was still able to come across some awesome steals. My goal is to share a thrifted outfit with you every month from now on. But check out the details below on my mix and match thrift fit date night outfit below.

[Fashion Buzz] Fashion Bloggers Holiday Collection

MYNT 1792 Holiday Jacket Collection

"Team work make the dream work"

What happens when some of the best full figured fashion bloggers in the game team up to create a Holiday collection of jackets? A fashion explosion!!! MYNT 1792 approached these bloggers because they loved there personal styles and knew that each of them could create five uniquely different but equally fabulous jackets, and boy did they deliver! I love how each of these ladies interpreted there personal style into each jacket while also drawing inspiration from other places. As much as I would love to get my hands on some of these jackets right now they won't be released for sale until November 1st.These trendy coats range between $108-$248 and because they wont be released till next month that gives you beauties plenty of time to set aside money for these "Fall-Buh-Las" jackets. But until then here's a sneak peek at each jacket and the inside scoop on where each blogger drew there inspiration from while designing these beautiful and very versatile pieces!

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE MYNT 1792 HOLIDAY COLLECTION

Nadia Aboulhson "I was really inspired by the early '90s and various Missy Elliott videos for this jacket.Making my dream jacket, and the fact that my readers can actually have access to it is incredible!"

Alison Teng "Being able to work with MYNT 1792 on a namesake jacket was a total dream come true! I wanted to create a piece that works for Southern California's mild winter, and incorporates a few of my favorite features-quilted leather sleeves, exposed zippers in a rich gold hue, and a convertible length for added versatility."

Kellie Brown "Creating a namesake jacket with MYNT 1792 was such a fun experience. I'm really into sporty looks right now, so I wanted to make a casual jacket that felt special. Anything convertible is a big win for me, so this jacket is a three-in-one. It's a three-quarter puffer coat, a vest, and a short sport jacket."

Nicolette Mason "I've been following MYNT 1792 for the last couple of years, and they've become one of my favorite emerging brands. Being able to work with the team from MYNT 1792 on designing my jacket was a dream come true; it was so fun to be able to create a jacket (a pink one, naturally) that was 100% my own vision — with added inspiration from their design team.

"The five girls included in the MYNT 1792 collaboration, myself included, all have distinct aesthetics and strong stylistic points of view — all of which I think come across really, really clearly in our jackets. At the same time, I know with 100% confidence that we could all rock all of the jackets in this collection without hesitation."

Franceta Johnson "I wanted to create an edgy, versatile, coat that could be worn as many ways as possible. This two piece trench can be worn as a dress, a vest, a crop and... well, a full trench, duh! I added some quilted sleeved because I will always be obsessed with them and a belt for a little more detail. I hope you guys love the design as much as I do!"

So I threw together this fab "Casual Chic" look that is basically a head to toe look from Target with the exception of some the accessories.Below I have all the details on each piece in this look.I hope you beauties are inspired!

As I re-embark on my "Makeup Comeback" journey I decided I wanted to step way outside my comfort zone, which usually consists of warm neutrals and earth tones and open myself up to a world of color. With that being said I found 3 fabulous lipsticks that ooze boldness and scream fabulously from 3 different brands each under 5 bucks. So beauties I hope you enjoy my review and grab these "bomb-beauty-bargains"!

#1 NYX Matte Lipstick "Perfect Red Rouge Parfait" $4.99 (Purchased from Target)
My Review: This is seriously the perfect red lipstick! It applies on smooth and easy much like a high quality lipstick but for a great price! I definitely be adding more NYX to my makeup stock!

#2 NYC "Blue Rose $2.99 (Purchased from Taget)
My Review: I absolutely love this color lipstick. As far as application it was above average which should be expected for its price point.I have to say that I was highly surprised at its quality and not at disapointed. This lipstick is a def must have!

#3 Wet n Wild $1.99 "Its a Girl" (Purchased from Walgreens)
My Review: This lipstick required a little more work when applying. If you're a makeup rookie you may want to steer away from this brand because if not applied right you can give off the circus appeal. This lipstick comes off real loose and heavy when applied. On the bright side of things if applied properly you'll end up with amazing pink lips.Overall it was an ok lipstick but I won't be running back for more of this brand anytime soon.

[Designer Spotlight] Elann Zelie "Zelie for She"

Meet Elann Zelie

" The designer mastermind behind the plus size clothing line Zelie for She"

The "Zelie for She" clothing line by L.A based designer Elann Zelie is everything and then some to the plus size fashion world right now. This quickly rising designer is not your typical "Plain Jane" been there done that, seen that, and did it again plus size fashion designer. She is edgy, bold, and daring and her clothes reflect that season after season. Recently she launched her "Forever Young" fall collection and  her "Young Wild &  Free" graphic t-shirt line. Her new collection and t-shirt line are both a breath of fresh and fabulous "Fall-buh-lus" air. What I admire most about her as a designer is that she gets exactly what the Plus Size Industry has been missing, because she too herself is a plus size beauty. She understands that plus size beauties love there curves, she gets that we don't want to always be confined to what the world thinks we should wear, and she gifts us tasteful, sexy and feminine clothes continuously through her custom designs. No one does a high-waist skirt and a crop top better than Elann Zelie . Below I've featured a few of the many pieces I love from her "Forever Young" collection released yesterday and beauties these pieces are going fast. You're going to want to get your hands on these looks quick and did I mention her amazing reasonable prices and free shipping on all orders over $100. Click her to go to her online store www.zelieforshe.com for these amazing looks.
